Christie West, President
I am beginning my journey with the White Pigeon School Board this summer. I graduated with my bachelor’s degree from Indiana University. I later went to Thomas M. Cooley Law school and received my Juris Doctor. In order for me to give 110% to the school board, I am currently taking classes at Western Michigan University to further my understanding of K-12. Currently, I am the Dean of a college, and have been in post secondary education for the last nine years.
I am the mother of four children: Bill, sophomore at Huntington University; Victor, freshman at St Joseph College; Chas, sophomore at White Pigeon High school; and Obie, seventh grader at White Pigeon middle school.
I have been a school board member for the past five years. I am currently in my third year of a four-year term serving as Vice President. I grew up in the northern part of Michigan on a dairy farm where I attended Alpena High School. After high school, I moved to the Detroit area where I began my law enforcement career with the Detroit Police Dept. I have been with the Michigan State Police for the past 22 yrs and I am currently assigned to the White Pigeon Post as a Sergeant. My wife Elaine works at White Pigeon Community Schools as a substitute teacher. We have three children that all attended White Pigeon Community Schools where they excelled in both academics and in sports. Our daughter Amberly attends Western Michigan University and is in her final year majoring in Communications, our son Alex attends Adrian College where he is majoring in physical education and plays football as a running back. Our youngest son Cahil is a freshman at White Pigeon High School.
Having attended a large high school myself (my graduate class size of 750 students), we chose White Pigeon for its size for these reasons. I am very proud of our school here and the direction we are going with it’s improvements in and outside the classroom.
Paul Roe, Secretary
I am in my third year as a member of the White Pigeon Board of Education, currently serving as secretary. I also have previous board experience in a neighboring school district. A native of Sturgis, I received my B.B.A. degree (major in accounting/minor in law) at Western Michigan University. As a result of my work, my wife and I have been fortunate to live in Kalamazoo, the suburbs of Chicago, Houston and Los Angeles and have experienced their public education programs. We moved to the White Pigeon School District in 2000 but have owned property in the district for almost thirty years. My wife of 45 years is a retired high school teacher. My hobbies include sailing, golf and fishing.
My name is Dan Cropsey and I am in my second year on the White Pigeon Board of Education serving as treasurer. I received my Bachelor of Arts Degree from Adrian College majoring in Business Administration in 1973. I am President and CEO of Great Lakes Realty Services and have extensive background in banking and finance. I am a proud member of White Pigeon Rotary having served as its president and I am currently the Interact advisor at White Pigeon High School. I am proud to be recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow Recipient by the White Pigeon Rotary club. I have served as president of the White Pigeon Parks and Recreation Board, served as a White Pigeon village council member, and served as the White Pigeon village clerk. I have coached little league, varsity basketball, and football in White Pigeon. I am married to my wife Susan and I have two sons Brandon and Brett who both received excellent educations attending White Pigeon Community Schools. I enjoy golfing and being outdoors.

I have been on the White Pigeon Board of Education for the past seven years serving as a Trustee. I serve on the school board for the kids. I have lived my whole life in White Pigeon and graduated from White Pigeon High School in 1991. I have worked in the concrete business for the past 19 years. I am married to my wife Kelly and I have three children, Logan, Cole and Blaine who all attend White Pigeon Community Schools. I like to volunteer and donate my time on school projects and help out with the White Pigeon inline hockey program. I enjoy traveling and watching my sons play hockey and spending time with friends and family.
Joe Taylor, Trustee
I am excited to be entering into my first term on the Board of Education for White Pigeon Community Schools. I have attended a Michigan Association of School Boards class and plan to attend many more. My prior work experience includes purchasing, bills of material, customer service, and sales. I have lived in the area most of my life. In 2001, we chose to live in White Pigeon primarily for its small town atmosphere and smaller school system.I am married to Ron and we have two sons, Jack and Joshua, who attend Central Elementary. We are actively involved in their academic and athletic activities. Being a stay-at-home mom has allowed me to volunteer much of my free time. I am the White Pigeon Little League President and a current volunteer for WP Parks and Rec, a current volunteer and past Vice President of Central Parent Organization, and I served on the committee to renew the sinking fund this past May. When I am not volunteering or attending my sons' sporting events, I enjoy scrapbooking and watching college football.
